30 Nov CMF Announces Best of British Casting Industry Awards for 2017

The UK Castings Industry gathered together recently for the 2017 Awards Dinner, organised by the Cast Metals Federation, with renowned Journalist and Editor, Eve Pollard OBE presenting the awards.

Harrison Castings Ltd were named as the Company of the Year, for their ambitious programme to develop new overseas markets for their castings, whilst also undertaking a major refurbishment and modernisation of their historic foundry buildings.  The Award for Innovation was awarded to BCAST, Brunel University, with Sarginsons Industries Ltd, for their development of a new high strength, high ductility, low pressure casting alloy.  The prestigious Casting of the Year award was presented to Shield Aluminium Die-castings for an aluminium low pressure die-cast component for the Ford Raptor SUV.

Pam Murrell, CEO of the Cast Metals Federation said, “Our independent judges were very impressed with all of the entries this year and were able to produce a very strong shortlist.  It was great to able to showcase the Best of British and have an entertaining evening of celebration to boot.”
