The Cast Metals Federation (CMF) and Metalshub will host a joint webinar on Thursday 9 July 2026 exploring how digital transformation is reshaping the UK foundry industry and helping businesses improve competitiveness, efficiency and resilience.
Titled Digital Transformation in the UK Foundry Industry, the webinar will examine how foundries are responding to rising costs, increasing regulatory requirements, supply chain complexity and growing sustainability expectations through the adoption of digital technologies.
Host Samir Jaber from Metalshub will be joined by Lee Marshall, Chief Executive of the Cast Metals Federation.

Foundries remain a critical part of the UK’s manufacturing supply chain, supplying cast components to sectors including automotive, aerospace, rail, energy, defence and heavy industry. However, the sector continues to face significant pressures from high energy costs, volatile raw material markets and increasing regulatory demands. Digital technologies are increasingly being used to improve operational performance, reduce waste and strengthen long-term competitiveness.
The webinar also forms part of CMF’s partnership with Metalshub, announced earlier this year, which aims to help foundries explore digital procurement approaches and strengthen sourcing processes. Through the partnership, CMF members can access Metalshub’s digital procurement platform at a preferential rate, alongside a programme of webinars, market insights and practical guidance.
