Prof John Campbell has agreed to be one of the main speakers at this year’s CASTcon 2020 and will provide delegates with his latest thoughts and insights into making better castings, with a presentation entitled ‘Ending the Fracture of Metals’ – a game changer if ever there was one!

Other highlights that delegates can look forward to include several case studies from industry experts.

For the diecasters we have Paul Dodd, from major automotive supplier CastAlum who will speak about reducing solder through using additive manufacturing in HPDC and Tammo Luessenhop, Petrofer Chemie speaking about the influence of microsprays and die lube residues on lightweight casting production, as well as a presentation about an innovative ceramic and metal riser tube for Low Pressure diecasting from Muneer Ahmed.

Our keynote presentations include: Tim Andrews from the MTC – Manufacturing Technology Centre, who will speak about digitalisation and productivity gains, with some industry specific case studies including Phil Rawnson of MRT Castings Ltd; Lawrence Davies MBE from UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) who will discuss the new opportunities in the automotive industry; Rachel Eade MBE who will focus on the drivers of change for the supply chain serving the wider transport sector, a very important market for the UK castings industry.
