CMF is pleased to confirm that the guest speaker for this years’ Awards Dinner is Steve Parrish.
Steve is a former British Motorcycle Champion and 5 times World Truck Racing Champion. He has just published his new biography, Parrish Times. After turning professional at the age of 22 in 1976 and winning the ACU Solo Title in the British Motor Cycle Championship, in the same year he became team mate to Barry Sheene on Suzuki and competed in the 1977 500cc world championship.
He later became 1978 British Champion, won the Shell 500 title and a Superbike title in 1981. In 1985 he started commentating for BBC Radio before joining Sky to commentate on Superbike alongside Barry Nutley.
Steve then worked for the BBC for 12 years on their Moto GP coverage and also covered the Isle of Man TT for ITV4 and the NW200 for BBC NI. Steve worked for many years commentating for the Red Bull Air Race. He also has a successful theatre show (M.A.D Tour)which travels around the country giving people an insight into his life around racing. Other passions are flying aircraft (his own plane is called Plummet Airways), and he is an infamous practical joker.
