At the recent West Midlands and Coventry Branch Dinner of the Institute of Cast Metals Engineers, outgoing Branch President Ian Shergold Prof MICME, pictured left, was able to present the Chain of Office to new Branch President Richard Heath, Prof MICME.

Richard, who is the Health & Safety Officer for UK Foundry Industry Trade Association, The Cast Metals Federation, said, “After 29 years in the castings industry, I am delighted and honoured to be the Branch President. I am planning a varied programme of speakers and events and look forward to meeting lots of our Members during the coming session. This is an exciting time of change and opportunity for our institute – with the new National Foundry Training Centre, part of the Elite Centre for Manufacturing Skills (ECMS) due to open early in 2018 and the institute engaged in a range of activities aimed at supporting training for the industry – I am looking forward to being able to help support this work and encourage continued involvement from Members and wider engagement with younger Members”.
