The Cast Metals Federation today announced that Simon Forrester has formally resigned from his role as Chief Executive. During his short tenure, he has helped to shape the organisation’s strategic direction, preparing it for continued growth. Simon’s decision to step down comes after a period of reflection. He will continue to support the organisation during the transition period to ensure continuity and to help address any outstanding projects.
Steve Goodier, Chairman of CMF, commented: “Simon has worked with professionalism and brought energy and new ideas during his short time as CEO with us. Whilst we are sorry to see him go, we respect his decision and are grateful for his contribution. The Board is committed to ensuring a smooth transition and will begin the process of identifying a successor who can continue our strong history of supporting the UK castings industry, building upon Simon’s work, and leading CMF into its next chapter.”
Simon expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to serve the CMF and thanked the team and stakeholders for their support. The Board is pleased to confirm that in the short-term Dr Pam Murrell has agreed to take up a part-time role to support the CMF and help with the recruitment of the new person. Further updates regarding the transition and future leadership will be shared in due course.
Abbie Southall will be leaving CMF on Thursday 28 August to take up a new role with Sellafield, the nuclear facility. Abbie started with CMF in May 2021 and has been a huge boost to the CMF and ICME teams, handling a wide range of admin tasks to a very high standard. She will very much be missed, and our thanks and best wishes to her for the future. The search has begun to find a replacement, a part-time role which will be based in our new offices. Interviews are taking place in the coming weeks.
