Magnesium and aluminium castings supplier, Creasey Castings have recently joined the Cast Metals Federation.
The Kent based company produces components in a range of aluminium and, more unusually in the UK, magnesium alloys for the autosport industry, from formula one and Indycar through to historic and clubman racing including critical engine components as well as gearbox and suspension housings, wheels and steering components. The company can also manufacture parts for classic and historic vehicles and motorcycles, as well as castings for the general engineering and energy sectors.
Russell Creasey, Managing Director at the company, says “We are committed to providing high quality, high performance, world-class components, in low volumes and prototypes, or batch supply, to international precision engineering markets in aluminium and magnesium alloys using sand casting. We can offer a one-stop-shop for our clients whether reverse engineering using scanning of original parts, or creating pattern equipment manufactured directly from CAD data or 2D drawings, through to NDT and GOM scanning of finished parts.
“We recognise the work that the CMF is doing to support the UK castings industry, particularly at a time when health & safety, sustainability and competitiveness are key, and we are delighted to be joining the CMF so that we can take advantage of all the support and information available to members. We are looking forward to getting involved in the various member’s meetings and other activities that CMF organises to bring together the UK industry.”
Welcoming the foundry into membership, CMF CEO Pam Murrell FICME says, “We are always delighted to welcome UK foundries into membership. Creasey’s are pretty unique in being able to offer lightweight castings in magnesium in the UK, and we are pleased that we can help to showcase what they are able to do. There are clear opportunities for the castings industry in the UK and there will always be demand for near net shape castings in all metal alloys.”
