20 Apr Weir Minerals Joins the Cast Metals Federation

The CMF is delighted that Weir Minerals Europe have now joined the Federation. Based in Todmorden, the foundry are specialists in delivering and supporting slurry equipment and mine dewatering solutions for the global mining and mineral processing industries, the power sector and also for general industry; their products include pumps, hydro cyclones, valves, screens and screen media, rubber and wear resistant linings.

“We are always delighted to welcome new foundries into membership,” said CMF CEO Dr Pam Murrell, “but in this instance, even more important is the fact that Weirs are a global group and are dedicated to sustainability, process optimisation and continuous improvement. So at time of significant change in the UK, with the Net Zero Carbon agenda and sustainability issues demanding close attention from all those in the Manufacturing sector, the knowledge and expertise of the team at Weirs will be hugely beneficial to our work.”

Lee Jenkins IEng FICME, Director of Operations at Weir Minerals agreed, “We understand the important role that the UK Foundry and Castings industry needs to play, as a vital part of the circular economy for metals and as a supplier to other important sectors for UK infrastructure.
