27 Aug CMF Members’ Meeting in Scotland a Success

CMF was pleased to welcome Paul Sheerin from Scottish Engineering to speak at our Members’ meeting held in Stepps, near Glasgow, during August.

Skills & apprenticeships for the industry, as well as trade, including the issue of lengthy payment terms that some members experience from their larger customers, and the problems that this can cause, were just some of the topics that were discussed and a lively discussion ensued!

Pam Murrell and Richard Heath from CMF were able to provide the usual updates on health & safety, the energy market and pricing trends and forthcoming industry events.

“We were pleased to welcome a number of our newer foundry members to the meeting, as well as several of our suppliers and partners, and one or two guests to the meeting – it is always good to be able to get the direct feedback that these regular meetings provide. We are already looking at suitable dates for next year programme!” said Pam.

“Following the meeting we were also pleased to be able to visit George Taylor & Co (Hamilton) and Drysdale Brothers and see the great work that both these companies are doing to invest and grow their businesses. They are both great examples of the Best of British Casting.”
