ICME are offering a new bite-sized course – Introduction to Casting

Who is the course for? This course is for new recruits to the industry and operators who want to have a basic overview of the casting process.  The course would also suit non-technical staff who would like an appreciation of the casting process, such as administrators and HR professionals, as well as support staff in foundries.

Venue:     National Foundry Training Centre, Elite Centre for Manufacturing Skills, Tipton Road, Tipton, West Midlands DY4 7UW                                                          

Course duration: One day (09.30 – 15.30)

An ICME course attendance certificate will be issued to all attendees.

 Course includes:

  • What is casting – introduction to the process and some terminology
  • Process steps in making a casting
  • Some different casting processes
  • Where are castings used – some applications for castings
  • The global casting industry

Other courses in the introductory series include:

 1.2          Introduction to Sand Casting

1.3          Shell moulding and Core-making using Shell

1.4          Gravity and Low-pressure Diecasting

1.5          High Pressure Diecasting

1.6          Investment Casting – the basics

1.7          Casting Finishing Techniques

Price:    £150.00 per delegate (Plus VAT) Price includes a Sandwich lunch and all refreshments.
