30 Sep Calling all young Foundrymen & Women – Award entries sought: Founders’ Industry Contribution Award (Non-ferrous)

Calling all young Foundrymen & Women

Entries are being sought for this year’s Founders’ Industry Contribution Award with a prize of a bursary* towards the costs of attendance for the winner to an international technical foundry event.

The Award is an ideal opportunity for a young person from a foundry that produces non-ferrous castings in the UK to be involved in a premium foundry event of 2025 and gain untold experience and significant acclaim. The closing date for applications is 31st October 2024 , so interested parties need to consider applying now.

Established by the Worshipful Company of Founders’, in association with the Cast Metals Federation and the Institute of Cast Metals Engineers, to encourage young people in the cast metals industry to increase their knowledge and develop some international experience, the prestigious Industry Contribution Award is made every two years. Attendance at an international congress/conference is an ideal way of achieving the goals set by the Worshipful Company to provide the recipient the opportunity to gain an improved understanding of the industry and meet with like-minded people from around the world.

One such event is the next EICF International Conference* which will be in Liverpool from the 5th to the 8th May 2025.  This conference will include 2-day technical conference, exhibition followed by works visits and social events.
* The winner can select an alternative international of equivalent stature by agreement with the Panel.  The bursary is £1500 for an event in the UK or Europe, and £2500 for an event that is further afield.
