The Cast Metals Federation is looking for a new Chief Executive to manage the day-to-day operations, as Dr Pam Murrell FICME will be stepping down from her full time role at the end of 2024, after 10 years as CEO.
We are seeking someone to continue to provide the high levels of service and representation to member companies we expect, whilst ensuring value for money. The new person will benefit from the support of the Chair and Council and handover from the current CEO. It is likely that you have either had experience working within the foundry industry or alternatively experience within an industrial trade association. The Cast Metals Federation aims to make a difference by supporting and representing its industry at all levels and acts as the voice of the UK cast metals industry. The CMF works to foster development, collaboration and innovation in the UK casting industry, in partnership with businesses and stakeholders, to lobby Government, promote good practice and represent the “Best of British” casting across the globe. As the single voice for the UK foundry industry the CMF promotes the UK castings industry, influencing discussions with government bodies, negotiating and consulting on UK and European legislation.
As CEO of the Cast Metals Federation, you can expect to:
- Report to the Chairman & Council and manage a small team of four staff.
- Ensure that member companies are adequately served, involving travel to sites and face-to-face meetings across the UK.
- Ensure that the Federation continues to operate on a sound financial basis.
- Provide an interface with representatives from Government departments.
- Ensure links are in place to receive regular updates on topics of interest.
- Coordinate and, as appropriate, chair regional, sector and committee meetings.
- Represent the Federation at national and international meetings that will require occasional European travel.
- Research and compile communications to members.
You will also require the following:
- Preferably have a degree in Engineering or other relevant technical/commercial discipline.
- Able to demonstrate personal responsibility for recent commercial success.
- Foundry industry experience would be an advantage.
- Alternatively, you will have experience working for an industrial trade association.
Above all you can view this as an opportunity to make a difference and continue to drive a positive, proactive agenda that will enable the UK cast metals sector to flourish. We are based in the manufacturing heart of the Midlands in Tipton, close to the motorway network at the ECMS National Foundry Training Centre.
