01 Oct James Fisher NDT joins the Cast Metals Federation
A comprehensive range of NDT services are available from the newest Cast Metals Federation member, James Fisher NDT.
The company offers extensive conventional and filmless radiographic inspection services at its state-of-the-art NDT production facility on Deeside Industrial Park, located off the M56 motorway near Chester. Specialising in the radiography of safety critical components for a wide range of industry sectors, including rail, aerospace and automotive, and with UKAS and Nadcap approvals, their facilities include eight exposure bays, two of which are large, with a lifting capacity of up to 2000kg. With on-site darkrooms and processing areas, as well as five computed radiography scanning stations complete with standalone server, the company actively promotes the transfer from film to digital radiography and was one of the first UK companies to gain Prime approval for digital.
Welcoming the company into membership, Pam Murrell, CMF CEO, said, “We are delighted to include James Fisher NDT as members of the CMF – this is an important service for the industry needed to assure castings for a wide range of sectors, particularly now there is increased interest in sourcing near-net-shape castings from foundries in the UK.”
Vikki Urwin, Level 3 RT/DRT of James Fisher NDT, agreed, “We look forward to working with CMF and supporting their fellow Members with their NDT testing needs, as well as offering any technical support, testing technique development and inspection planning that is required.”
