15 Feb Management of Vibration & Noise in the Workplace

The Foundry Industry Health & Safety Initiative (SHIFT), which is administered by the Cast Metals Federation, quickly moved on-line during 2020 to continue to provide information and share good practice advice with its Members. Always well attended, SHIFT events typically include an update on the main areas of focus for the HSE, topical talks from industry experts on aspects of safety and health surveillance as well as a look at the trends in the industry’s health& safety accident statistics.

The December webinar included an excellent presentation from Chris Steel, from the Health and Safety Executive, on the management of vibration in the workplace. The feedback from the audience was excellent with delegates reporting that it was one of the best and most engaging presentations on the topic they had heard in a long while. It certainly generated a lot of questions that Chris took the time to answer, which was greatly appreciated.

In early March the topic will be “The Management of Noise in the Workplace” and sees Chris presenting again. Noise and vibration are very closely linked to each other, so this promises to be another engaging hour.
