12 May IMPORTANT – Official guidance from government on working safely
The UK Government Guidance on Safe Working, aimed at helping employers and employees return to work and work safely during the Coronavirus pandemic, has now been published and the link below will take you directly to it on the gov.uk website.
As the virus is a foreseeable risk, under current UK legislation, you must undertake a risk assessment and the findings from it, including measures to be taken and changes to working practices, must be communicated to all employees. Where changes to operations on site and activities including manual handling, changes, you should also review the relevant risk assessments for them, to ensure they are valid, suitable and sufficient, taking the changes into account.
As with the virus risk assessment, changes need to be communicated to employees and where necessary additional training or a refreshment of training should take place. This will be required to help ensure that employees remain safe at work.
