09 Jul Comedian Simon Evans set to Entertain at Casting Industry Awards
The guest speaker for this years’ Best of British Casting Awards Dinner is acclaimed comedian Simon Evans.
Simon Evans is an established act on the stand-up comedy circuit. His style has been characterised as aloof, sardonic, sharp-witted and, following a well-received return to the Edinburgh Festival in 2010 where ‘his sharp, acidic barbs remain a rich delight’. TV appearances include the Michael McIntyre Roadshow) and Edinburgh Comedy Fest Live as well as most of the TV stand-up comedy showcases and a number of topical comedy shows. He also gave acclaimed acting performances in Rich Hall’s ‘Fishing Show’ and ‘Cattle Drive’.
Simon appears regularly on BBC Radio 4 – hosting and writing seven series of the spoof news show ‘The Way It Is’ (as Richard Richard), as well as appearing on numerous panel games including ‘The News Quiz’, Armando Iannucci’s ‘Charm Offensive’ and ‘The Unbelievable Truth.’ He has also featured on discussion programmes such as ‘Off the Page’.
He has performed one-man shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe since 2000 and has performed internationally at the New Zealand Comedy Festival, Cape Town Comedy Festival as well as in Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai, Beijing, Winnipeg and Dubai.
