The last few years have been very eventful for Midlands based casting company J H Lavender. Not only did JHL celebrate a centenary in 2017 but the year also ended with a prestigious industry award.
On the 14/12/2017, JHL were presented with JLRQ a prestige automotive industry standard which recognises commitment to providing outstanding performance on quality, cost and on time delivery to the JLR Group. Upon receipt, MD Ian Timings stressed the vital input of every employee….
“Such awards cannot be attained without the dedication of the team. The achievement of JLRQ is fantastic news for the Company and justified recognition for the consistent and excellent work ethic of our employees. The strength and depth of skills have been key to us achieving this award and I would like to thank every employee for their efforts on this journey.”
JHL are the only privately-owned manufacturer of aluminum gravity and pressure die castings in the UK to hold this award. The company which is based at Stone Cross, supplies a combination of both machined and assembled products to numerous JLR plants both in the UK and overseas and for many different vehicles. However, the company do not only supply the automotive industry. Recent successes include contracts from UK based Gas and Large Truck companies. JHL will continue to diversify the customer base to ensure the stability of the business in the long-term.
JHL have also recently completed the build of a brand-new bespoke machining facility and aim to be in full operation by the end of Q3 2019. The company have invested heavily in the facility and recent contracts secured in the automotive industry for the next 5-6 year period suggest it has been a wise investment.
“The company is in a very strong position with a solid foundation to support continued growth and expansion. The new facility will be dedicated to the machining and assembly of high integrity parts primarily for the automotive market. JHL have everything the automotive industry needs skills, quality systems, engineering expertise, technical support and now the facilities to back it all up.”
