20 Sep ICME Sets Up New Company to Support Industry Training

As part of its continued commitment to support foundry specific training, ICME has set up a new training company to help deliver apprentice training in partnership with the Elite Centre for Manufacturing Skills, ECMS.

The company is called Foundry Training Services Ltd, FTSL, and experienced training manager, Michala French, has been employed on a full time basis as Training and Quality Manager to ensure that the new company is able to offer first class training.

Speaking about her appointment Michala said “I recognise that we have some very enthusiastic and knowledgeable people from the industry involved in delivering training – my job is to ensure that we turn them into tutors who are equipped to support apprentice training delivery, alongside the team from the ECMS and Dudley College. We also have some good resources to build upon and of course the facilities available through the ECMS, and specifically the new National Foundry Training Centre, will be hugely valuable here. I am looking forward to the opportunity to be able to make a difference to the future of training provision for the UK industry.”
