27 Jun Cast Metals Federation at Automechanika Birmingham

From the 6th to the 8th of June, the Cast Metals Federation represented the ‘Best of British Casting’ at the internationally renowned automotive exhibition ‘Automechanika’ on its second visit to the NEC in Birmingham.

The event saw over 800 international automotive sector companies and organisations exhibiting and over 12,000 visitors attending the event across the 3 days.

This was the Federation’s first appearance at Automechanika and we received 33 enquiries, which we are actively following up; several companies have approached us to discuss finding a supplier for castings within the UK and the level of interest shown in British Castings was very encouraging.

CMF CEO Dr Pam Murrell said ‘We were pleased to be able to showcase the UK foundry industry at this event. The automotive sector is one of the major sectors that our members supply, and whilst the UK supply chain for the sector continues to go from strength to strength, there are still opportunities to significantly increase the amount of components sourced directly in the UK.’
