09 Feb An Investment in the Future

More than 30 people, from 14 different companies, attended a technical short course run over two days by CMF.  With speakers from many of the leading suppliers to the industry, including Remet UK ltd, Blayson Group, Imerys and LBBC Technologies Ltd, the key process steps and control parameters were explained to delegates.

Attendees were also able hear from Rolls Royce Plc  who spoke about the future demands on the industry from the predicted growth in the aerospace sector, even before the automotive and medical sectors are considered, as well as the increased use of ceramic cores as turbine blades increase in size, whilst needing to be lighter and withstand higher temperatures.  A panel discussion, involving contributions from Castings Technology International, (Cti), Uni-Pol Group, voxeljet, LBBC and Esi, who spoke about future trends and opportunities for the investment process, closed the event.

“To have the opportunity to hear just what goes into the materials we use on a daily basis, and to be shown some tips on the how to avoid common problems was really valuable. I found the event really interesting,” said Stacey Ingham, Foundry Coordinator of Fort Vale Engineering Ltd.
