03 Dec New Chair of the Cast Metals Federation

CMF is pleased to announce that Wendy Bennett has been appointed as the Chair of the Cast Metals Federation (CMF) Council for the session 2015 to 2016. She will be the first female Chair of the Federation since its formation in 2001, following the coming together of the main castings industry representative bodies.

Wendy, who is the Chief Executive Officer of UK investment casting foundry Lost Wax Development Ltd, which is part of the Newby Foundry Group, is looking forward to support the UK industry through the Federation. During her opening address, at the recent CMF Best of British Casting Awards event, Wendy spoke about the importance of promoting the UK industry. “the UK industry continues to offer high valued added parts across the full range of processes, metals and size of parts, and is integral to so much of the UK manufacturing including the energy, automotive and aerospace sectors,” she said. “Whilst some areas of manufacturing are facing challenges, not least due current lack of investment in the oil and gas sector and high price of energy, I am looking forward to working with Members to ensure our industry continues to have a bright future.”
